11. Folleto
A brochure (un folleto) is a small, printed or digital booklet or flyer used to provide information or promote something, such as:
- A product or service
- An event
- A place (tourism)
- A campaign or cause
Its purpose is to inform, persuade, or guide the reader using clear, appealing, and organized content.

Key features, tips and examples
- Must be relevant and short, to the point.
- Make it stand out: write bigger and bolder.
- In commercial brochures, where the purpose is to sell a product or service, the headline may contain exclamation marks.
Examples:

- Guía para padres de adolescentes
- Turismo Verde: ¡Descubre Asturias!
- Visuals are essential to brochures as they catch the reader's attention and help explain or highlight key points
- You may also include a logo in your brochure
- Don't waste valuable exam time by drawing a picture; just draw a box and write the word 'FOTO' or 'LOGO' in it.
- If you have extra time, you may describe the content of the picture.

- Precise and concise: to the point
- Structured in short sections with subheadings
- Key info must be visible right away:
- Use bullet points / icons
- Highlight in bold
- Let the text "breathe": no crowded text
Examples of subheadings:

- A slogan is a memorable phrase that reinforces the message.
- Be direct and persuasive, use the imperative.
- Depending on the type of brochure, you may create a sense of urgency with a call to action and exclamation marks.
Examples:
- ¡Aprende e impacta!
- ¡Agáchate, cúbrete y agárrate!
- Hablando y creciendo juntos.
- ¡No te lo pierdas!
- Add contact details and links to help the reader find more information.
- You may add social media and/or a QR code.

- Reflection: Create a class exhibition by lining up the brochures. Read other group's brochures and guess their context, audience and purpose.
- Discussion and peer feedback: What was your favorite brochure, and why?
- Was the title effective in catching your attention?
- Was the register and tone appropriate for the audience and purpose?
- Was the slogan memorable, or was the call to action compelling?
