Portfolio workflow

The Learner Portfolio can be organised in many ways, using web-based tools or pen and paper. The most important question to ask is: What purpose does it serve? 

There are a range of answers to this question from 'a showcase of student work' to 'a process journal.' But who is looking at this portfolio, if not the IB? Parents? Teachers? School administrators? The student who owns the portfolio? 

What if the portfolio was the learning management system for everything that happens in the English classroom? Students may or may not even call it their learner portfolio. This slideshow presents a method in which the portfolio is the fabric of everything that happens in the classroom.

One of the approaches to learning is self-management. How aware are you of your workflow at school in general? Could you make a 6-step process for completing assignments at your school for any subject? How might this process differ from class to class, subject to subject? Having a 'workflow' or method of organising yourself is key to success at school.
