      Overview:
      Part 1 - General bits and bobs: What is the German Ab initio course all about? How do I structure this two-year course? How do we best support our students acquiring vocabulary and practising their different skills? How do I go about writing a DP unit plan? Which text types do I need to cover with my students?
      Part 2 - Paper 1: How do we get our students to properly understand, analyse and 'dissect' the prompts, choose the right text types, and plan accordingly? We’ll be looking at this exam component’s criteria, marked exams with examiner comments and how to support students with exam specific language skills.

      Overview:

      Part 1 - Individual Oral Exam: Which pictures are suitable for the exam? How do I go about parts 1, 2 and 3? Which questions can I ask in the follow-up discussion/s? How can we best help our students to tackle and structure this 15-minute exam? We'll be looking at exam strategies, marked exams and their examiner comments.

      Part 2 - Paper 2: This second and final session will explore the reading and listening exam: we’ll be discussing its challenges; review common reading and listening exercises; go over specimen papers - and, of course, share tips and tricks.
