Barbara Rosato earned her 5-year Bachelor degree in Italian Literature at “Sapienza” University of Rome and a post graduate certificate in Teaching methodologies at the University of Rome “Roma Tre”. She has taught Italian as a second language at numerous Vatican universities and colleges (Pontifical Gregorian University, Collegio Teutonico, Collegio Sant’Apollinaire) and at several embassies and international organizations. She has been a certified IB teacher at Marymount International School of Rome since 1997, specializing in particular in Italian B, Italian ab initio, Italian A Literature and Theory of Knowledge. 

Barbara is also an IB examiner of Italian B. She has been the Chair of the Italian Department since 2009 and she is currently coordinating the CILS at her school (Certificate of Italian as a Second Language in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).  

Besides her teaching commitment, she has also continued to pursue her studies and especially her passion for cinema. She attended numerous courses at university level in film studies at the University of Rome “Sapienza” in the 2006 - 2009, and successfully passed all the exams at the end of these courses. 

Barbara has been a workshop leader in Italian B, Italian Ab Initio and Italian A for Philpot Education since 2015. She is also the author of the succesful Italian B Support Site.
