The PP is internally assessed and standardised by supervisors, the PP coordinator and MYP coordinator and externally moderated by the IBMYP moderation team.

 The following pages provide you with the assessment criteria and the grade boundaries  It is recommended that you practice assessing and standardising the Personal Project, using the published criteria, before grades to your PP or MYP Coordinator.

Organizing the Personal Project is a structured process involving several key players.

• The MYP coordinator plays a central role in providing guidance and ensuring adherence to program requirements. Each student is assigned a project supervisor who offers personalized support and monitors progress.
  
• The project typically follows a defined time frame, with milestones marked for the start, middle, and completion phases.
  
• Maintaining academic honesty is crucial, and students and supervisors must use the provided form to declare their commitment.
  
• The librarian also contributes significantly by assisting with research skills, resource location, and referencing.

Collaboration among these stakeholders ensures a well-organized and successful Personal Project experience for Middle Year students.

In the personal project, students should be able to:

1. Articulate a learning objective for their project and provide a rationale for how a personal interest influenced the choice of that objective.

2. Define a desired end product and establish relevant criteria for evaluating the success of that product.

3. Present a well-defined and comprehensive strategy for realizing the product and fulfilling the associated success criteria.

In the personal project, students should be able to elaborate on how they applied the ATL skill(s) to support the achievement of their learning goal.

They should also provide an explanation of how the ATL skill(s) was utilized to assist in the realization of their product.

In the personal project, students should be able to elaborate on the project's influence on their own personal development or learning.

They should also be able to assess the product's quality based on the established success criteria.
